GROW UP!

Sunday I built all my little tee pees for my baby squashes. I hope they hold. Actually I hope they climb them and I am still able to get to the fruits. I'm so excited to have squash growing in the yard its amazing.

My friend Carol gave me a Japanese Pink tomato plant. My bed's are full so I planted it in a pot and just stuck the cage around it. I buried it deep so hopefully it will have a big root system. I tried this with the golden mini's that are now starting to ripen. The deep burial seems to work well. Makes a very healthy plant. That's how we like 'em. Nice and sturdy.

It would be nice if it was a late bloomer and then we could have tomatoes late into the fall.

I have already been looking into getting a canning kit. Last year I just gave all the excess away but sure was sad when I had to buy tomato sauce come winter. This year I think I'm going to make my own. Soup base and sauce who knows maybe I'll make my own V-8. Can't be that hard.
