I like big boards and I can not lie
These are the 2 choices. I like the smaller of the 2. Its still 5" but I think it makes a statement. Do we like it? Too big? You can see where the original plaster line is. They had something on here that was about 3". I think if I went that short I would feel like I should have gone bigger. Also, the stain looks a little different than the windows. I put 3 coats on it, do I really have to do 4? Ugh.

stain looks good (remember its at the bottom of the floor)..also like the short one.
I agree with you, I like the smaller of the two options. I love wide baseboards and think whoever invented those itty-bitty
2" ones should be taken out back and shot.
Heh-- I almost snorted my drink when I read your title. Totally made my day.
But to the point, I think the smaller one is great-- I wouldn't go any smaller, but you could go bigger if you're so inclined. Then again, we have 8 inch baseboards, so I'm used to the size...
I also like the smaller version...but I'm really checking in to applaud your brilliant post title! LMAO.
I like the smaller one too.. but it hard to judge cause the picture is so small. If I could get an idea of the height of the room from the picture it might be easier to tell..
If the room is taller than normal I think it could carry off the larger boards..
I'm agreeing with the smaller of the boards... but NO smaller than that!
Our house is small, 1,200 square feet. I would love even bigger but I think the proportions would be way off. Thanks for all the input. You guys are funny.
i like the small ones...but more because the detailing is subtle and i think better compliments the simplicity of the window trim above. love the stain though. i'd agree with yer mom.
